This course emphasizes on the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a mental health care setting and teaches you to address the existence of systemic barriers to care.

By the end of this course, you will be able to recognize the social determinants of health and navigate through interactions with patients/clients in a culturally inclusive and responsive manner.

  • Apply inclusive language/communication when building rapport with patient/client
  • Analyze patient scenarios and their diverse experiences and provide care strategies that accommodate for patient/client needs
  • Respond to situations where power and privilege have worsened patient/client care and provide solutions to resolve conflict
