This course will equip you with the essential skills to accurately differentiate between dementia, depression, and delirium (the 3Ds) in elderly patients/clients/residents through comprehensive training.

By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently identify the underlying conditions of the 3Ds and offer appropriate and timely interventions to patients/clients.

  • Choose appropriate screening/assessment tools to differentiate between the 3 Ds
  • Identify physical/verbal/non-verbal/cognitive/psychomotor behaviours associated with each of the 3 Ds
  • Identify contributing factors in patient history that lead to a diagnosis of each of the 3 Ds
  • Differentiate onset/fluctuating course of illness through interactions.
